I will tell you a secret. While ago when researching RaceDeck I found other similar products and information about manufacturer and brands.

So... This is exactly same as RaceDeck, just different name/color.

have you tried to mix and match it with RaceDeck? I want some areas in Freeflow, so if it didnt mix in correctly, it would be a waste of my money.

Looks like a great price! Better than the Costco one I posted about. I have about 960 sq ft to cover so its still going to spendy.

dboat- if you were not wanting free flow, would the tile be acceptable for use in garage? The Race Deck is OK, but way over priced in my opinion, especially considering Moto Floor from Costco. Is the height the same as Race Deck? Can you give us a more detailed comparison with RD? Thanks, Wayne

oh,,, bummer.. so, borderline rubbish?

should one hold out for racedeck?

I wouldnt call it borderline rubish. Its not quite as thick as Racedeck and DEFINITELY NOT COMPATIBLE.

I wanted a solid tile for the walkways and Freeflow for the areas under the cars/truck. In the winter, the snow should melt off and the water should flow under the Freeflow to the drain. If you are wanting something RaceDeck-like, it might just fill the bill..

As per my earlier post.. I was hoping that this was RaceDeck compatible to let me save a few $$.. I want something that is compatible with FreeFlow for the rest of the garage..

My other concern, is that if I move, I will need to get some more tiles (possibly).. when and if that occurs, will I still be able to get this tile to fill in, add on, etc?

I am going back to RaceDeck as my solution for flooring.

ok, let me get that done later today. I'll try to find a good spot to do it and also show the difference of the back side and thickness too.

Certainly interested to see the comparison. Sort of a general question - how flat does your garage floor need to be to use these types of products. (actual dims of allowed slope/transition)

I can only speak to my current floor.. I have a 3 car garage with a separate drain for each of them.. so the slope in my garage is fairly gradual. However, when I was renting while the house was built, I had a 2 car garage and the slope was pretty big. I thought it was way too much, esp, for a small 2 car garage.

That's what I was afraid of. Looks like I might be doing a skim coat. :(

From personal experience, in my shop the Kiwi tiles that I used have no problem adjusting for the slope and pitch of the floor which is quite pronounced.

Pics and more Pics

Here are some quick pics taken of the Sams flooring vs RaceDeck.

Using a fine measurement tool, the thickness of RaceDeck is 1/2 inch vs 3/8 inch for the Sams Product.

You should be able to tell by the pics that the loops for the two tiles do not line up to allow them to be compatible.

Hopefully, the set of pics will tell the story you want to hear.. if not, post up and let me know what else you would like to know.

Dana

btw, anyone want to buy a box of blue tiles?

i like the shine the sam's tile has.. i wonder how long that will last.

Sc'd,
the pics are better than real life.. but the only concern I have about the shine is wonder how long its going to take before I am bothered by all the little scratches that are going to show up? Then I am going to be looking and posting for a cheap solution, or I am going to have to replace the tiles..

or maybe I am just a little to AR for this type of tile.
