Need suggestions for improving traction and ease of cleaning for a 200 ft2 room that serves as a kennel and mud room.

Dogs are crated for short periods of time.

Floor is slippery concrete and only gets worse when it rains. Been using waterhog mats for years, but need something better.

Considering tiles. Want to balance traction with ability to clean. What material and texture should I consider? Cosmetics not important, don't want to break the bank.

My dad was a veterinarian and they used something like that in his boarding kennel. No dogs ever chewed it up that I knew of. The holes are not big enough for large dog food to fall down into.

If you are not keen on plastic tiles, how about a densifier/sealer combo with a bunch of anti-skid added?

Why not some textured, non-slip, vinyl plank flooring. Waterproof, easy to clean, and if this is in a home easy(ish) to color match your decor. Vinyl isn't for everyone, but I've helped put down 3 large area floors of it the last year and they look great. Good enough I'm putting it down in a few months when we redo our kitchen and living room. Our puppies and robo vac will appreciate it.

Selected a coin tile. Traction is really good. A bit disappointed by the gaps between the tiles. That's something that you don't learn about until you have more than a sample tile on hand.

Put down heavy duty landscape cloth to cut down the noise. Used a second layer for heavy traffic area. Pleased with the underfoot feel.

Just need to install a few sticks of PVC quarter round to finish out the edges.

One of the dogs is totally freaked about walking on this new surface. He'll get over it, but it was funny watching him try to leap over it the first few times through.

Hi, our www.supratile.com PVC heavy duty interlocking tiles have virtually watertight joints, and no gaps between the tiles.

If you put a paper towel under a joint and pour water on the joint, the towel will stay dry.
