I just built a new house and getting ready to put down epoxy floor. I bought epoxy shield for both spaces. I have a 3 car on the house and a 20x30 shop detached so about 1200 SQ feet together. Is two kits going to work or do I need three? Another question is do I need to etch because its new concrete? Also what about the clear coat on top? I have never done it before and looking for some Ideas.

Yes, you definitely need to etch before you apply the epoxy. It doesn't matter how new or old the concrete is. The etching effectively roughs up and opens up the pores at the surface so that the epoxy can penetrate better to achieve a mechanical bond.

What is the stated coverage rates on the kits you purchased? Unless they are making kits now that cover over 600 square feet each, you most likely are going to need 1 or 2 more kits.

Just in case you are not aware of the life expectancy and protection with the EpoxyShield kits, you might want to read this article about how they hold up.

Shea is 100% correct. Etching at the minimum is required for using an epoxy system.
