So I have been wanting to remove the carpet in my house since I bought it back in 07. I am not going to lie I know nothing about this subject, this is also the first house I have every owned. I really am hoping to get a little knowledge and help from the awesome members of GJ.
For right how I was mostly wanting to replace the carpet and vinyl floor in the master bedroom and master bathroom. I do know hardwood and water do not mix well so I was thinking maybe laminated wood. Can anyone tell me if this would work or any things I should look for when selecting flooring? Any advice on what type of wood/color would look best? I was really wanting a dark wood color like in this picture.
If I was to hire someone to install the floor what would be a good idea should I expect it to cost? I would rip the carpet out myself but not sure about how to take care of the vinyl.
