Does anyone have ideas on some type of flooring/decking over an existing outdoor deck? I have the vertical room to add a top surface instead of ripping up entire deck and replacing with a synthetic decking.

Is this a solid-surface deck? or boards with gaps between?

The green or brown outdoor carpet was a popular 'fix' at one time...

I was in the same spot. 30+ year old weathered deck. Deck was solid 2 x 6 decking just weathered. Didn't want to remove the decking. When I built it, I used spiral nails. Looked at covering it with trex, but that would trap water in between. I ended up using deck tiles from " Flooring Inc". 12 x 12 tiles that interlock. Went down real easy. Tiles are not fastened, just interlocked. Pricing is about the same as trex per sq ft. Very pleased with the outcome.
