Flooring question

I’ve got a cabin with a 1 & 1/8” advantech floor on 14” lvl beams on 12” centers. Pretty solid.

Do you think an Armstrong vinyl type glue down plank would do ok? Or will it telegraph the advantech and look terrible?

I am looking at a deal on some nice commercial stuff at 50 cents a square foot.

I was planning on some sort of snap lock floating. But this seems like s pretty good deal.

It takes a lot of prep on those types of subfloors to make it looks good. If the floor isn't SMOOTH it will show through. Joints need to all be filled and sanded. I personally am not a fan of that sort of flooring on wood subfloors, just too many variables that can affect it. Even the place I work has it over concrete that was smooth and you can see all the glue trowel marks under it, not sure what the installers did but it doesn't look great.

Thanks for the response. I went ahead and got it. I agree, prep will be key.

I’m 50% optimistic. It’s very stout commercial stuff. 65 lbs a box. 1400 lbs total for 1100 sq ft. That was fun.

I like the color and the price. Worst case, I spend a lot of time installing and have to cover it with snap lock.

I would staple luan plywood underlay down . if there's any largish depressions , fill with floor patch first .
