Flooring questions

After evaluating several garage floor options, I have narrowed it down to two. Epoxy or Porcelain Tile.

1. Can I get something like Wolverine without the high gloss finish? Every floor I have seen is too shinny looking for me.

2. What is the best Porcelain Tile to use for a garage? 12x12 or 6x6, what are the specifics of the best tile, uncoated? And where can I get them, Home Depot/Lowes or is there an online store that is better? What is the best epoxy grout to use?

I took a walk down my local auto row (over 20 car dealers) and looked at the floor of every service area just to see what they are using, bare concrete was #1, followed by tile. Not one had any plastic tile.

Thanks.

I can help you with # 2. Most porcelain tiles will be good. I would recommend finding a local tile store instead of using the box stores. Selection will be better and a lot better product. 12x12 would be a good size. You can go larger, if your floor is level. Working with larger tiles on an uneven floor is not fun. Porcelain tile does not need to be sealed.

As far as grouts. Look a Mapei Opticolor or Laticrete Spectra-lock. They are not a pure epoxy grout, but hold up well and are a lot easier to work with.

Also, if you garage is unheated or gets below freezing, watch what thinsets you need. If you need any recommendations, let me know.
