Flourescent Light Placement ?

I am going to be building a 28' x 28' garage in the spring. The walls will be 9' feet high (all that code allows). The roof trusses will be of the scissors type putting the roof peak at about 11 1/2' high. The walls will be drywalled and painted with the dark to light paint seem that is commonly used here, although I am not sure of the colors yet.

I was thinking about using 12 - 8' foot 2 tube florescent light fixtures in 4 rows of 3 lights placed perpendicular to the trusses starting 4 feet from each ends of the garage. I was going to place the first row of lights approximately 1/3 of the ceiling span up from the wall and the second row 2/3's of the span up from the wall. The other side of the ceiling would be done the same. Sorry, I don't have an illustration.

Will that be a good placement for the lights, or is there a better way to do it.

Thanks,
Jon

I can't comment much on the spacing other than it sounds okay, should give you plenty of light. One thing though, don't use 8' 2 tube fixtures. I suggest 8' fixture with 4 4' tubes. The 8' tubes are a pain to handle and store. Also use T8.
