I have twelve 24x48 drop in troffers (the old T12 magnetic ballast types) and would like to convert them to electronic ballasts/ T8's. Anybody know of a retrofit kit that includes the sockets ?

T12 and T8 sockets have the same bi-pin spacing so contractors will often just use a Wago type connector to re-wire the fixture. The wiring diagram is on the label of the ballast so it is usually pretty clear on how to rewire the sockets. Sorry if you already knew that but I am not aware of a retrofit kit for troffers, per se.

the best retrofit kit on the market is built by Lithonia, its the Relight series and its made to fit in any 4" or deeper fluorescent recessed troffer. With these kits you simply remove the old ballast/lens frame/sockets, install two side panels, slide in the new pan with the ballast, lamps and socket already installed, wire it to the existing wiring, fasten the pan, slide the new lens frame into place and voila, new ultra high efficency fixture performance, new ballast, new lamp sockets, UL listed so its up to code.
