Fluid Film Solvent

I coated some bare steel shelves with Fluid Film a few months ago to prevent rust until I could get them painted. Today I attempted to remove the Fluid Film with mineral spirits but that didn’t seem to cut it.
Tried lacquer thinner and that didn’t do much better. Any ideas on what could be used as a solvent for this stuff? Obviously I’ve learned my lesson and won’t use it again on something that will be painted. On the can it says “soiled fabric should be dry cleaned” but dry cleaning fluid isn’t an option at the moment.

We use it on our Helo's at work and we use PD 680 to remove it. After spraying we let it sit for a minutes and hose off with hot water.

Ive never tried it but purple power might take it off. It is very tenacious stuff.

isopropyl alcohol, it's cheap and works like a charm.

Ayuh,.... Soap, 'n Water will wash it off,...

I use dishsoap, 'n abit of scrubbin'...

It is canola based I believe so some deep fryer cleaner may work.

It's strange stuff. Normal household soaps and isopropyl just sort of push it around. Brake clean does seem to cut it. I cleaned one shelf with brake clean and then rinsed with full strength Simple Green and that seemed to get it all. Didn't try Xylol or purple degreaser because I was working with what I had on hand. I guess the fact it's difficult to remove is what makes it good for snow plows and mower decks.
