Fluid line plugs

Any recommendations on a set of fluid line plugs? Need to replace a radiator that the trans lines run into and would like to get some plugs to minimize fluid loss. I know there have been times in the past where I could have used them also. I know just sticking a bolt or something in the line usually works but I think I would use them enough and the sets I've seen aren't that expensive so I would just like to buy a purpose made set.

Found these and they look pretty nice, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000P9CP3Q/?tag=atomicindus08-20. Probably would need two sets in order to plug both lines. Or is there something better out there? Is there some generic sets for vacuum lines or something?

I keep a couple of sets of these around, but they only go to 3/8 or so. Each colored piece is a male and female plug.

Which clamp style? I have one or two of the pliers style like these, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000O3NACS/?tag=atomicindus08-20. But they are bigger and heavy and I think they would be kind of a pain to use on some small hoses like these and just let them hang. I think a smaller rubber cap style would be a lot nicer to use.

They look line small hand clamps. They have a rubber plug in one side that sits on line. Other side holds it to it.

I know the ones you are talking about. Does the line have to have a flare in it for those to work? Or will they work on a straight rubber hose?

For rubber hose, I've used bolts where I've cut the threads off leaving just the smooth shoulder, then ground the cut end to a slight rounded edge. Works great and wont damage the hose.

I use Assorted Rubber Stoppers, Size 1-6, (18036), search Amazon for them.

Golf tee's work great on rubber lines,as they are tapered,for a snug fit.

Use the style you linked for rubber. They have plastic versions too. If it still leaks after you clamp it fold it over and clamp it closed

Sounds good. I'll order up a couple sets of these to have around.

The picture they have is terrible but you can pick these kits up at a Cat dealer for $50. The box is two sided and has a cap/plug for anything you will ever need to plug on a car. I use them on equipment every day.
