In doing a search yesterday I ran across some recalls for Fluke Meters. In the search engine of your choice type in "Fluke Meter Recall" . Some of the Flukes could be potentially dangerous. One model has a delayed reaction on registering voltage where it may show that the the power line has no voltage when in all actually it does. There are a few different models listed and different problems listed. So if you have a Fluke, you may want to check it out.

Important! Safety notice and recall of certain Fluke Digital Clamp Meters

Dear Fluke Customer:

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Fluke is voluntarily recalling certain 333, 334, 335, 336 and 337 Digital Clamp Meters that were manufactured between January 29, 2008 and February 27, 2009. The models and serial numbers affected are listed in the table below.

If you own one of these clamp meters, please stop using it and send it back to Fluke for replacement. If you are not the primary user of the Fluke 33X Series Clamp Meter, please pass this notice along to the appropriate people within your organization

Please note: Serial numbers with the suffix "R" or the prefix "S" are NOT included in this recall.

Description of the problem
Through quality assurance tests, we have discovered a potential short circuit connection on the circuit board. This may lead to inaccurate voltage readings including a low or no voltage reading on a circuit energized with a hazardous voltage. This finding could create a hazardous situation if the user were to contact live voltage based on an erroneous instrument reading.

Actions
1. Stop using your affected 33X series clamp meter(s) even if you have not experienced problems.

2. Verify your clamp meter is affected using the serial numbers provided in the table.

3. Click the Return Form link below to return your clamp meter for a free replacement. We will send you a prepaid mailer to return your unit at no cost.

4. Please do not send test leads, cases or other accessories.

5. Please keep a copy of the serial number for your records.

6. When Fluke receives your clamp meter, we will send you, free of charge, a replacement unit.

T2 Safety Notice and Recall
Dear Fluke Customer:

During a routine quality review we discovered that a few customers have experienced a potentially hazardous malfunction in the T2 Electrical Tester. We are undertaking this voluntary recall because we place tremendous importance on your safety and the reputation of our products.

If your T2 tester has a serial number of 7351XXXX or higher please stop using this product and return it to Fluke for free repair. Units with lower serial numbers are not affected.

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM: The T2 "locks up" in certain circumstances while being used to check voltages over 400V or in applications where high levels of static electricity or transients are present. When the tester "locks up" it stops working for approximately 8 minutes, after which the tester resets itself. If the user does not follow industry standard practice by verifying the tester before and after checking a circuit, he/she may believe there is no voltage present when in fact there is. THIS COULD PLACE THE USER IN A POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS SITUATION.

Requested Actions: (for affected units only)
STOP USING YOUR T2 ELECTRICAL TESTER, IMMEDIATELY.
Return your T2 tester to a Fluke Repair Center for repair.
Before returning your T2 tester you must get a Return Tracking Number.
Obtain a Return Tracking Number and, if desired, a postage-paid return mailer by calling Fluke or your Fluke representative:

At the Repair Center, eligible units will:
Be reworked to correct the lock-up problem
Have fresh batteries installed
Be inspected and performance-checked
We urge you to immediately stop using your T2 Electrical Tester, even if you have not experienced this problem. If you are not the primary user of a T2, please pass this notice along to the appropriate people within your organization.

We recognize that recalls inconvenience our customers and we are committed to improving the safety of the affected testers, with minimal disruption and no expense for you.
