Fluke RPM question. 78 88

I have a fluke 78. I’m fine with the meter.
I do not have the RPM pickup for it.

Does it work “good”?
Years ago I bought an ESI meter and the rpm wasn’t very good. If moved around so bad it was useless.

I do lawn mower repair and need to verify/adjust rpm fairly often. I also use temperature and ohms for other reasons. As well as general meter usage.

Is there a better alternative to buying the RPM 80 lead? I’ve always wanted an 88, but I don’t think I need the other features.

I have a cheap laser tach that uses silver tape and I think it works ok, but I don’t like it.

Also my go to meter is an M12 Milwaukee fork meter, it’s been good and I don’t care for it a lot so I don’t mind if it takes a beating.
I typically measure charging voltage and sometimes measure charging amps with a uni-T dc clamp meter.

I also do basic wiring on the mowers and around the house.

The 78 RPM pickup worked ok but was never a important function in how I normally used it. But by the time I got one RPM was not a normal adjustment.

The reason I don’t want a vibration one is so I can tune on carburetors to get the mixture right on atv’s.

Thought about timing light. I need to be able to see an rpm as I adjust.

Also to set mowers to 3600rpm.
