Got an area in my shop where I do a lot of small projects / bench work type stuff. Gets terribly stuffy in the summer, and I'd like to add a ceiling fan. Ceiling is 8', and I'm 6'7", so there is a bit of a clearance issue!
Anybody know of a fan with an extra low profile?

What's up above? Can you put in a whole house fan and then some massive ducting around it to allow air to flow back and up above it?

I mounted my fans on 6" downrods and I feel like it starves the airflow somewhat vs. the potential of hanging about 24" down.

That said you need to look out for your personal safety! I would try a wall mount version. I believe there are swing-out freight dock versions for needing to work inside of stuffy semi trailers unloading this and that. The fan is nothing new, its just on a swing-arm linkage....
