Flush floor plug outlet.

I need to find a flush, round floor outlet for a wood floor. I've been googling for awhile now. Apparently some that are called "flush" really aren't. They have a cover plate that sits on top of the floor. I need one that sits totally flush to the plane of the floor..

I've seen ones I think are what I need, but a can't tell for sure by the description and specs given. A specific link or model/part number would be extremely helpful. < 150 preferably, brass finish. Floor has access from below so any config would be acceptable. Thanks.

Didn't see the other thread about floor outlets..But I doubt the info I seek will show up there.(I've already been to one of the links mentioned). Will continue to hold out hope here.

I think if you want it totally flush you need to create a rabbet in the floor to accept the plate. Use either a good old chisel or make up a pattern and use a router.

I've seen them in convention hall floors, meeting rooms at hotels, and theaters (in the stage floors.) Completely flush, made of brass. No idea who makes them, but they do exist. Screw-in caps so the floor crews won't short them out.

Hubbell makes some, but they're not cheap. To be truly flush some would have to be let in to the floor.

Try flush or floor "receptacle" instead of "plug" or "outlet" in your searching. And sometimes it's easier to search thru google images to find the correct style.

The box is actually cast, but was assured it works fine installed in wood floor.

This one is readily available at HD, and while the cover could be recessed, the beveled edge of the cover would look strange IMO.

From what I was told, apparently the term "flush" is used as long as the cover meets ADA requirements.

gregtwojeeps..The cover you linked does indeed look like one that would be used for a true flush mount. I'm guessing it can be combined with a work box and achieve the same result. Felt it was easier for me just to go with the entire unit.
