i have a flux core cambel housfield welder and i was just curious on what flux core wire people are using. before i had a welder i had a friend do some welding for me and he ran out of hobart wire so i got some forney wire and he didnt like it as much. i believe it was the splatter. i have been using the hobart stuff for mine and im just cutious if theres a better wire or if i should just adjust the welder for the forney wire?

every different brand of wire i've ever used has it's "sweet spot" for settings.

i've gotten the best consistency (between spools) with lincoln wire.

and it's most readily available for me.

For general welding needs, I like Lincoln NR-211 the best so far. It doesn't spatter as much as some of the other E71T-11 class wire I've tried, and it just seems easier to weld with.

This probably won't be all that helpful for you but I was much happier after I converted to solid wire and tri-mix shielding gas. It welds so much better than flux core.

Lincoln NR-211 for a number of years now. It runs pretty smooth for FCAW and is readily available even if it's 8pm Sunday night, lol.
