Good evening all, very long time lurker here and finally decided to join up.
I recently relocated to North Carolina (Charlotte area) a little over a year ago now from Long Island, NY where I had spent my entire life until now. I love and hate NY equally (I know others may have a different outlook, I don't blame ya hahaha) I'm happy with the move, NC just suits my life style better these days.
Just a little background on myself, I'm a former GM line tech and life long drag racer and short track enthusiast (Modifieds are a big deal in the North East). After I left the dealership, I ventured into aerospace and worked at an independent machine shop back in NY whose main contracts are for the F22 & F35 programs, Northrop Grumman, and Boeing among others and fell in love with that industry. Ultimately my plans are either to settle down up state more and be closer to Mooresville and get back into race engines and Lockheed, or I may go the other direction and settle in SC.
Either way, looking to buy a house within the next couple of years, and if something suitable isn't already there, build a nice detached home shop to race out of, as well as my little manual machining and other hobbies.
Thanks for having me,
Rob
