Been trolling around a couple times, thought I'd better join so I can ask some questions and participate in the forums.
I've been planning my garage for about 4 years, finally started construction September 16. They finished painting the exterior last Saturday and now I'm just waiting for my garage doors to arrive and it will be dried in. I'm going to do the electrical myself, add AC/heat later this year, and then insulate and finish the walls.
Details...the main building is 24'X36' with an attached 20'X22' covered parking area. Wall height is 10' vaulted to 13' to allow for a vehicle on a lift, also coming later this year. It has one 8'X18' roll-up commercial style door and one 8'X9' roll-up door (to be delivered and installed this Saturday). It is designed, built, and painted to match my house, and looks pretty good, even if I say so myself. Don't have any pictures since it was painted but I'll post some when I get a chance.
Toys to go inside are my '74 Corvette resto-mod (383 w/roller cam + 4 spd), my '71 Javelin (next project), and my '76 Suburban (468 w/roller cam, beater). The Corvette is done (as if they are ever really done), the Sub needs a little TLC, and the Javelin will eventually be a total resto-mod project.
I'm hoping to find some tips on lighting, floor coating, HVAC, and general garage planning and utilization tips.
Thanks in advance,
Jeff
