Hey guys, not actually new I've been browsin the site off and on for a few years and have an old outdated intro posted back about 2 yrs ago. So anyway, I'm from North Florida, about 2 yrs ago my wife and I bought our first house on an acre with no zoning laws
. One of my first tasks was to get some form of garage. We ended up getting a rent to own prefab 12'x24' garage, I was so stoked to finally have my own spot.
I scored a truckload of brand new hardwood flooring from a neighbor who worked at a flooring place, this was mismatched boxes and about to go to the dumpster when i got it and did my entire floor
I started playing drums again and got a cheap kit and my garage kind of turned into a music studio, started a band got a nice new gretsch maple drum kit and the garage became rehearsal space. That lasted for about a year till I started developing bad Carpal tunnel in both wrists and couldnt play much anymore and the band met it's end.
ever since then my garage has just become a place to pile up more and more junk, 2 of my 3 bikes were sitting outside and a few weeks ago I decided I really need to get back to my bike projects and clean up the garage. Then I made the mistake of browsing through posts here and now I have a hundred other things I want to do aside from simply cleaning it up.
just a few plans
-finish insulation and add drywall
-build a wall to wall workbench
-find and install cabinets
-vertical storage
i'll have to wait till after the holidays to get started but in the meantime i'll be reading through the posts looking for more ideas
heres a few shots of my project bikes
1975 Honda CL360, scored form a coworker for $500 he owned it since he was in high school some 30 yrs ago, currently stripped to the frame and being rebuilt as a cafe racer.
1979 Harley Sportster - my ongoing chopper project and money pit
1973 (?) Kawasaki H1 mach III 500cc two stroke insanity, like a weed whacker on steroids, the fastest production bike back in it's day and the 750 version still holds the 1/4 mile record.
I put my daughter in charge of the frame choppin instead
and before I catch hell, no it wasnt plugged in and no i dont let her use the angle grinder lol
ok so thats all for now, i'll post some pics when i get to building the workbench
