I'm one of the guys with a smaller garage (small 2 car), that wants to get the most out of it. I've gotten plenty of great ideas of fold away work benches. NOW I want to know if anyone has a fold away weight bench. Like for bench pressing. I know it's going to have to be pretty strong to hold all my weight and the weights I'll be using, but that's why I want to see if anyone has tried anything yet. Or has any suggestions. I amm going to try google right now, but stuff like this seems to be found on here a lot quicker. No I didn't find anytihng with this sites search feature.

From Google.
You may want to fabricate something like this:

You can fabricate the base (T part) as a separate part and use a clevis pin to attach the tower to the T base and cross members using a home made receiver/ hitch type assembly.
You could also use a flat metal/wood plate with the same type receivers attached to the bottom side to receive another set of T bases for that. When done with your workout just dissassemble and store.

you may not need a fold away
how about just having the platform you lay on be removable and set to the side
you can then leave the weight support part in place with the weights on it

It's doable depending on how much you way it will just get complicated.

First off, can you weld good enough to trust your life to it? I think wood would be too bulky

I've only ever welded sheet metal to cars. i don't own a welder either. I just thought I'd see if there was any ideas floating around.
