Folding Loft Stairs

My garage has an ~ 8'x10' area off of the main car storage space that I use to house my tools, workbench, etc. I built a storage loft over this workshop (16' ceilings) and have been accessing it via a step ladder. I would much prefer to have a true staircase going to the loft, but the arrangement of the garage does not allow for this. If I built standard stairs they would block the entry stairs going up into the house. I am thinking of trying to devise a staircase that hinges at the top of the loft an in the middle allowing the stairs to fold in half and be hoisted up to store vertically on the end of the loft.
Does anyone have any pictures of such stairs or any advise for building something like this?

I put in a set of attic stairs from Lowes, works just fine.

These are 22" wide but you could go wider with your layout.

I have a similar set up as pictured by BigGarage. However, it is difficult to carry anything up or down. I have a container just wide enough to fit between the handrails and it takes two people to utilize it, one pulling the stuff up and the other loading or unloading the container at the bottom.
