Anyone familiar with a 394 Foley Chain Sharpener? Friend picked one up and had it sitting around, he hasn't used it and dropped it off for me to figure out how to operate it. I haven't ever used a chain sharpener. I can see the "vise" part of it that holds the chain swings side to side to match the angle of the chain. What about the rotation of the motor and wheel? It is labeled 0-4 in one direction and 0-1 in the opposite direction. "Vise" also slides in and out, where on the chain should the stop for the tooth length lie? Probably should be looking for an operators manual. I have a couple saws that are running .325" chains and another with 3/8".
Thanks

Foley made professional stuff for chainsaw shops. They're supposed to be able to run both directions which people say makes a better grind. My consumer level grinder doesn't do that though some have modified them to run both ways.

You can probably search or ask on arborsite or forestry forum and get some info from people who have used them.
