Following an auction for a Canedy-Otto...

...floor standing Drill Press.

It's on a Gov liquidation site... Possibly a Royal.

It's a short drive for me to go get it. Site said it ran when the shop closed a few years ago.

Action closes tomorrow. The one blurry pic doesn't offer much. What are these things going for? Can't find much on the inter webs.

hard to say what they go for. I just missed on the big one in the picture for $100 and I wasn't really looking for a big one. it sold it 2 days on Craigs and didn't have the leather or nylon belt. I have the little brother or cousin sitting on my bench that I think looks great.

Jaberwakie(sp?) said he paid $750 for his before he restored it and he posted pictures of it on the old drill press thread a month or so ago.

it's what it's worth to you and just an FYI they are heavy.

Those old style drill presses are great machines.

It's a newer one than that one. Could be a Royal 18. I'm winner so far at $135. Just wonder how high I should go. I see one on fleabay right now for $1800...

Just called the contact number, they are going to call me back with the model #.

sounds like you have some room unless you found another bidder by posting your information on here before you bought it. more than just GJ members end up on this site especially if they google Canedy-Otto. I can't tell you how many times over the years when I googled something that I would end up on GJ, but it's in the thousands so I joined last year.

as mentioned before it's worth what you are willing to pay for it and not sure an auction site's listing of one for sale is the best comparable. also just remember that because it was running before the auction people picked it up or when it was delivered that i'm sure they don't give a guarantee. have you seen it in person or can you and did you hear it run?

Some good points. Just found out about it last night. Haven't been able to see it. It's a State auction with about 24 hours to go. I've got a call in to a contact where the equipment is being stored to get some more info.

There are two others bidding on it so far. I don't think I would go too far from $200 for it at this point. I'll let y'all know what I hear from the contact...
