footer and wall poured at one time?

any body ever poured a concrete footer and short wall in one pour? It seems to me that it would make sense if a person could frame up the forms appropriately. My concern would be making sure that there are no voids in the footer.

This would also consolidate the concrete pouring and would eliminate a cold join....

The footer and the wall would only be about 36 to 42 inches tall.

Yep, not a problem... See your local form supply house for the necessary components. The concrete guys I used to work with did this quite often.

we do it all the time, pour the footer dry, vibrate real good, add a little water and pour the walls.
