Footing wall return questions. Need advice from experienced persons on repairs

Hey guys taring the garage floor out to redo it with radiant floor heating .

My problem is the one side footing wall the motor joints are cracked and some are pushed out. Either it was not done properly or im unsure of.

Whats the best method of repairing this.

I was thinking of taking a small jackhammer hand held clean out all the joints and bevel them a bit then repair the joints with cement and then once the wall is done then repoor the slab.

Or is this wrong way to do so ?

Also if i take out the slab can i dig out the outer footing wall and repair both sides at the same time ?

Are you talking block ? One of the easiest ways to clean out mortar is using a diamond blade in an angle grinder, but the dust is very bad, and you should use a respirator.

^^^+1, its called tuck pointing, done all the time. also, if ya have someone else to help ya, you can take a garden hoese and run a little stream of water on the cutting wheel to keep the dust down. they make a sintheactic-? morter, in a tube, kinda like caulk, ive used this in the past with great results.
