Footswitch

Used David Clark footswitch in excellent condition. Switch itself is operational. There isn't a plug on the wire as seen in the picture. This switch is only on when the pedal is pressed so it would make a good deadman's switch for your drillpress or other piece of machinery. You would have to wire it up through a relay because the switch wouldn't handle the load of the motor. $35 plus shipping.

That is a Linemaster switch and manufactured in Woodstock CT... David Clark is a communications equipment manufacturer that makes a lot of communication equipment for emergency equipments, such as fire trucks. My best guess is that is a foot switch for radio transmitting.
The switch can be momentarily on or off, or tap once to make the connection and tap again to break the connection. Without a part number, it is hard to tell.

40071G-03 is the part number. The switch has continuity only when pressed unless I'm doing something wrong or not understanding you. I'll check it again. I got it for using with my drill press but I just really don't use my drill press enough to mess with it.

I have a foot switch on my drill press. Once you use a drill press with a foot switch you wonder why they all don't come standard equipped that way.

What you have is a momentary switch.. as long as you hold the pedal down, it completes the circuit. I suggest that you check the amp rating of the switch. Like AMP2 said...... you will love it on your drill press. I have one on mine and it works great. Also, if the bit grabs the work and starts to spin the work, you get away quickly and the drill press stops spinning. Much better than a switch on the side that you need to reach for to turn off... Great safety device.

I'd love to get this, but it's just not in the cards right now.
However, if anyone has a Dremel tool, this is PERFECT for one. My dad has his dremel set up to use a foot switch... turn the motor switch to the speed you want, step on the pedal and it fires up. Lift off the pedal, it turns off.
