One of the most important tools for those of us who stand on concrete all day is what we wear on our feet. I've never really been totally satisfied with my work shoes/boots. So what are the most comfortable and longest lasting work shoes or boots available?

I wear Timberland Pro Titan oxfords with steel toes. I swap them out every year. Regardless of the brand, I can only get a year out of my work footwear.

How much do you want to spend?
For under $200 a set I like Carolinas, mine have survived 4.5 years of incredibly hard use including mining, HVAC work, welding, and just general wear and they are comfortable to wear for 12+ hours a day.

If you are willing to spend closer to $500 look at a set of Nicks or Whites custom boots, a guy I worked with just started thinking about having his rebuilt after 6 years of mining and I have most of the guys I know wearing them have gotten a minimum of 2-4 years out of them before a rebuild. Personally I am going to buy a set of 10" Nicks loggers or Linemans with a composite safety toe for my next set of boots.

not loyal to any one brand.......first i go for lightness, insulated leather lining [surprisingly just as good or better than thinsulate] , and a spongy sole if possible..........suits spend a lot on shoes to sit at a desk, why cheap out on your comfort?............

Danner! I worked in a prison and spent all day walking the concrete jungle! Love them and had them re-soled

Union made in usa.

I buy the wedge solw no steel toe. I am on my 5th pair. I tend to get two years until i wear through the vibram sole. They are comfortable from the first day and get get even better after they wear a little.

I worked on metal roofs for a few years and they sucked on almost any slope.

I've been a fan of LaCrosse Quad Comfort steel toes. I'm on my third pair, but I am going to look for a lighter boot with a composite or aluminum safety toe.

Red Wing 2406, I get a solid three years out of them wearing 11 hours a day five days a week. I am very loyal to Red Wing as (at least at the time 15 or so years ago) they would let you test drive the boots at work for up to 90 days and still return them if you are not comfortable, it took me four pairs of boots to find the perfect ones. Until they stop making my boots I will continue to purchase a new pair every three years.

Last time it was time for a new set of boots I stepped into a pair of red wings. Its only been a few months but so far they are holding up great.
