Hey Guys,

I believe that since Mac Tools (Precision Torque technology) and Kincrome (Lok On) are both owned by Stanley Black and Decker, the bolt flat grabbing technology is the same or similar.

Here is a YouTube video on Kincrome's Lok On sockets:
Lok On.

I own Mac's Precision Torque (Mac PT) shallow and deep impact sets in 1/2" drive. I would be interested in purchasing a Kincrome Lok On chrome socket set in either 1/4" or 3/8" drive.

I would appreciate to hear your experiences with Kincrome's above socket technology below.

Thanks,

Dave

I have a fair bit of Kincrome stuff, but only Lok-On™ I have are some deep impacts. They are quite popular over here and found in most tool shops. The design promises to grab a hold on fasteners rounded off to 80%, I have not found a situation where I can verify this yet but they have YouTube demo vids doing such. The lok on ratchets are 72t in 1/4 & 3/8 and 60t in 1/2 and are decent nice, smooth made out of Cr-V 40 grade steel. The sockets have 'ribs' inside kinda like the MAC design and others. Kincrome are essentially Taiwan tools and quality is good but not like high end SO, Stahlwille etc. I've beaten the hell out of my 1/2" Kincrome socket set (non lok-on) for years now and its held up well. Proper socket design, well broached, half chrome half satin finish, stamped size labeling, knurling but these are 12pt older design. Lok-on are all 6pt sockets designed in Australia produced in Taiwan.

IMHO there's not much point to them unless you're working on stuff someone else has already destroyed. Since I ditched 12 point sockets for a 6 point set I never round bolts anymore, snapped plenty of old rusty bolts but I can't remember the last time I rounded one.
