I'd sooner install some bird spikes in the areas where they are trying to roost.

Any repellant strategy is something you will have to do over and over and over again, forever, to keep them away...

whereas you can install some of this stuff one time, and be done.

Chances are, there are only a couple of key areas that they find appealing, so you shouldn't need to install it anywhere else except at these areas.

Not sure if this will work for your application but try some rubber snakes from the kids toy section. I have a 18x20 open car shed and a 12x20 added on that has birds pooping on my tractor, 4wheelers, and trucks. Threw 3-4 of those around under it up high and they seem to have disappeared. I think I had $5 in all of them. Old farmers used similar methods on their fruit trees I believe.

Just be aware, with those rubber toy snakes, that they usually turn into a pile of goo, if the hot sun hits them for any length of time...

Our kids left one on our front walk, I had to powerwash that damn thing out of the concrete, LOL.

I picked up some stuff at a flea market a couple years ago called Bird-Away, paint it on where they put their feet, stays gooey, they don't like it at all.

The fake owl never worked for me. Birds soon realize that it is fake and un-natural. I've found that the snakes work great as long as you periodically move them around. Years ago when I put out the snakes, I was worried that one of the herrons/egrets would try to eat them, but it never happened.

They have worked on me more than once. We always watch for "birds of prey" because we think they neat. We have stop the RV and unhooked our toad more than once to go back an get a photo of an owl just to find out it was fake!
