Which may have already seen it - lots of these around I think I wish I had the diagram that was in an old Bugs Bunny book I had as a kid. I remember the phrase "washing machine motor thrown in for confusion".

I've had that one in my cartoon file for probably 20 years now. I've always wondered about the dynamics of these kinds of cartoons and how they're distributed - these days they get sent around by email, but I got mine so long ago that it was a photocopy.

At one time many years ago I had a book titled 'the big book of photocopy humor'. Some one had complied a collection of these things in a book. At one time I was a photo copy technician. I requested that people put photo copy humor inside the front door for me. A few offices did so. I still have the folder of these somewhere.

I remember getting a joke cartoon one time at work, and then a couple days later my brother in law (who was an over the road trucker) handed me a copy of the same joke cartoon that he got from someone at a truck stop 1000 miles away. They were both nth generation photocopies from the original, so it made me wonder about who drew it up in the first place, when they first drew it and where it came from.

This is the one I grew up with in tech support.

First is how Sales described what the customer wanted.
Second is what Marketing thought would sell.
Third it how the Field Staff installed it.
Fourth is what the customer really wanted.

The guy who made the idea of urban myths well-known, Jan Harold Brunvand, talked about photocopy distribution of stories and cartoons in one of his books. A good photocopy idea could cross the country much faster than you would expect.

I think I saw that cartoon in the 1990s. I remember the "whiz at EE201" joke.
