After work yesterday I textured my walls so that I could paint today. I got up this morning and ran down to Sherwin Williams and picked up $400 in paint (I went with the new Duration paint It is suppose to be the easiest paint to clean if you mark up your walls I love their paints a bit more expensive but it's quality) Anyway had the primer coat on this morning, took a shower and headed over to Costco to return my compressor that failed (Time for a bigger unit!) I try to buy these types of tools at Costco since they have THE best return policy! They ended up being out of stock. We had to pick up some essentials anyway so I did my routine walk down the tool isle. On the main isle they had this new item (see below) The storage box is heavy duty and Heavy in weight 50+ pounds. Well constructed and as the box says over 2000+ different pieces. It looks very similar to the box Griots garage sells. I highly recommend the product it costs $85. There are pre drilled holes so you can mount it under your work bench this is where I am placing mine. Thought I would give you guys the heads up.

Im gunna go with asia. Notice how on the olympia site it mentions the brand name "thorsen." Thorsen used to be one of those good ole' american names. Now, they are using that name to sell junk from asia. If the box is made in tiawan, I might consider it, but def. not if its form PROC. Keep us posted.

FYI this has to be the same organizer Griot's garage sells for $299.

Looking at the picture in the newest catalog I received in todays mail the comparments have the same exact fastners. It knew they had a similar offering but never thought to compare the two side by side. The difference Griot's private labeled the box. So for $85 this is a steal. I am going to pick two more this weekend for my Mom's husband and my dad Christmas is around the corner!

My kids buddy works at Costco and when I asked him about these he said "Oh, those things are a pain because they're heavy as hell to stock the shelf with!" I asked him to drop one on the floor so I could get a damaged one for money off!

****, I can't find them at Costco online or at Costco near me.

Olympia web itself is about 20 mins drive from me though. I just sent them an email asking where I can find these. I don't even see it on their own website... :headscrat

Darn, darn darn!

Just got a reply back and they said they're sold out and currently they don't know if they'll get any more. This is from Olympia :(

Stainless hardware is a B*tch to buy. When My dads techs unpack their machines, they are bolted to big pices of 1/2 steel plate using 1/4-20 stainless.

I just bought one at a Costco here in Phoenix. They had another pallet full.

Thanks for the tip. I was just getting ready to start building a supply of many of the items found in this kit. Would have cost me a lot more plus I wouldnt have gotten the fancy box.

Here is mine mounted on my Costco (Online) work Bench. It was a ***** to get mounted. Drilled holes in the Butcher block counter sunk the heads of the bolts and used nuts on the inside of the box.

I bought one similar unit without the removable drawers at a swap meet for $40.00....and I bought three drawers for $15.00 each...they are Larson brand. I got them from the Larson fastener distributor...they are used but in great shape...mostly "repos" from shops who don't pay their bills...almost new and each was pretty well stocked...one had grade 5 and 8 bolts...one was FULL of various pop rivets and another had electrical connectors...This stuff is handy...

They prob. sold out quickly it was one of the isle items so once the pallet or two goes they don't re-stock. I went back last night to pick up a new digital camera and went by the isle they were gone. But they do have long black 4' or 5' powerstrips for the garage.
