For you dual 80 fans!!!!

I have been working on these for the past 3 or so months, before that I never had or wanted a dual 80, but you guys made me do it, and look what happened.... Also got the F872MP I was looking for... Now waiting for snap on to send me my other FHNF100.

One of my dual 80's does, but all the rest do except the dual 80's or FHNF100.

I have in my drawer older versions of everything except the SL80 and SLF80, but everything else I have two of each of older snap on versions, like 936 and 830 series and things like that. I do understand about buying american. I am not a mechanic so I can't always justify the cost. The problem I having now, is I really like the german stuff I have gotten and would rather get more of it than american stuff right now. Also I don't think that besides Snapon and Proto-right now I am not really into any other american company as the prices are high for what you get, and I like proto because they are a good bang for the buck even new. I want to try some more wright stuff, but it is a little out of my price range when I got most of my dual 80's off of here or ebay(I tried to buy ones unused) for a lot less than retail and the others I got as trade ins.

Is that a 1/2" drive? The 1/2" drive ones I've seen say USA.

No that is a 3/8. The 1/2 are in the pictures with only 3 of them together, an s80, sl80 and slf80 (24inch).

That would be correct, I have the round fixed head and flex for all the siezes, nices ratchets by the way.

I was going to post the three Dual 80s I have now (I just picked up an F80 to add to the S80 and TL72) but your post has made me feel quite inferior!

Nice collection! The Dual 80s are by far my favorite ratchets.

Very nice, that FX80 marked USA is my favorite.

That is the ratchet i swapped out the handle with a f841 to make the lever close to my thumb.... I don't like the lever close to head, because my hand I am pulling with is on the handle not the head. I don't know why they moved the lever to the top of the ratchet handle as opposed to the other end like the older ones were. On my tx models it is fine where it is, because the handles are short enough.... Maybe we can get an answer....

The best part was I never paid retail for any of them... and most of them were in mint condition, I did lube them all up with Mobil 1 grease and they work great!!!! Some of them I got for less than half price of retail or even less.

The change was made several years ago. Apparently the process to drill the hole that deep is inconsistent and the change was made.

Thanks for the info. I just like the position better on the older ratchets, but not a problem I just swapped the head with my USA version and now have a dual 80 with the lever I like. Has anyone complained about the new location?

I recently got an FL80 and a month or so before that, I purchased am SF80.
Overall, I'm satisfied OTHER THAN the fact my two little head plate screws kept backing out on my 1/2" SF80 and I didn't realize it 100% of the time and now it's needing a rebuild due to the warped, stripped teeth on the square drive gear. Must have been too much torque applied lately...

I will say though that I do tend to sometimes favor my 12" 3/8 88 Matco locking ratchet. I think the feel is just a little more solid....

I am thinking of taking my new breaker bar and swapping the handle from the slf80, as the handle(from the SLF80) is about 1inch shorter to make the drive head 24 inches long from the end of the handle to ratchet head. If I swap with my 24inch breaker bar, it would give me a 25 inch long ratchet. Or is that 1inch extra over rated?

Yeah I reeeeally want an FX80 that's got USA stamped on it. I've already found an F80 and FLF80 that have it. Does anyone know of any other Dual 80 Series that ever had the USA stamp?

Don't know if that would work. I was looking at my 3/8th breaker bar and fkf80 a few minutes ago and the pivots are different widths. The breaker bar is skinnier than the ratchet. Don't know if it is the same for 1/2 drive.

By the way you are missing an fkf80. My favorite by far.
