Force limiter - how much force?

We finally broke down and purchased a Wayne Dalton 8300 series garage door. Nothing fancy. Its a standard configuration with a Wayne Dalton Pro Drive belt driven opener. The install went perfectly, except that I need to smooth out the driveway under the door. There is about a 3 inch dip in the middle of the door. In today's economy, you would expect contractors to return calls, but none of the 8 companies I contacted have called back.

Back on topic... I have dialed in the force limiter so that it does not bounce. However, It takes a lot of downward pressure to make it reverse direction. How much force should it take to reverse direction?

Thanks,

Dan

So, if the garage door was to shut on a cardboard box, it should bend, not crush it? I think the current force will crush a box. I put my hand out to catch it and it required a lot of strength to get it to reverse.

Light enough force so as not to hurt a child or an animal......put your foot or hand under it.....just kidding. I'm sure the manufacturer would have a suggestion either in the manual or over the phone....the web. This would be quite the liability issue if someone would get hurt.
