Ford 9 inch Drain Plug

I had the bung made to fit an off the shelf 1/2-20' magnetic oil drain plug. Its 1 3/4" long and an 1 1/4' across. I drilled into the housing with a 1 1/4 hole saw and then used a burr to change the angle of the hole and mig welded it in. I also cut a section out of a 2 1/2" long, 2" piece of scheduled 40 and welded it on both sides. I left the back with a 3/4" gap in the back so that I could clean the mud out to prevent corrosion. how does it look guys? Sorry about the bad photos, my digital died and the phones all I have.

Nice i use a drain plug out of a early 80`s toyota pu has a magnetic plug and a protective ring around the nut.

Yea, I made mine that way also but im afraid that it will get hit and crush into the nut so I went safe and made the schedule 40 into a guard also.
