Finished building my tool storage/work area inside my shop. Got some great ideas on here so thought I'd share a few pics. The other room next to it is going to be an office and kitchen area. The wood used is cypress that was from an old home built in the early 1920's that was being torn down. The wood was about to be burned but I was able to re-purpose it. Last pic is an outside pic of the shop itself and the inspiration for the room!

Really nice setup, I like the use of the old wood and tin roof. What size is your building and who did you purchase it from?

Thanks for the compliments. The shop itself is a 40x60 steel building and was purchased locally (Louisiana). As for the Ford sign, it is a decal.

This coming from a diehard Chevy guy- Looks great!

I really like the checkerd flag pattern on the risers of the stairs.
At first glance it kinda looks some sort of eye test. :eyecrazy:

That work area is really, really nice!

You can tell when a person has a passion for what they are doing, it shows in the finished product. Yours shows!

Nice job

Looks Awesome! I've been tempted lately to sell the '01 Cobra and begin a search for a L, and I'd want Sonic Blue!

My Superduty and GPW just called. They said they want one just like it. Big enough so dads Fairlane can come live there too one day.:thumbup:

I'm a Chevy guy, but I'm really diggin the Ford Oval and really like the old shed inside. your gonna leave it looking rustic, right? (you can use it to house all those Ford parts your gonna need)

Thanks again for all the comments! The first time I went up the stairs I tried not to look directly at them as to avoid dizziness, but it's not bad. I tried to save some time and used the stick on tiles but the next day most had fell down and ended up having to use glue on them anyways so they would stay.

The exterior of the rustic room is staying as is, just trying to figure out what I want to use for the interior walls as it is just studs currently. Definately want to keep the rustic theme throughout....

Love the garage. The Ford area is amazing. I really am jealous. Where did you get the big blue oval on the wall?

Also, love the Lightning. Is is stock?

Damn, I had a response typed up yesterday and I never hit POST.

It looks damn nice man. Why do all of us Ford guys paint the top white, the bottom gray and a blue strip in the middle ?

For the interior walls how about some corrugated metal (like the rusted roofing) for wainscoting and then some T-111 the rest of the way up ? :dunno:

I think you would have drooled at my experience @ Ford in Detroit.
I had a bit of a private tour of the Piquette plant prior to opening on April 1.

BTW, no shameless self promotion here ... http://www.flickr.com/photos/_zprime/

Basically here to look at how you guys deal with the garage space. I have a detached garage that I'm trying to figure out how to push water to. :( About 75 ft from the house and need hot/cold. SO much great space yet living in Buffalo causes it to be unusable because of its separation away from the house.

Great place. The office area looks like it's got some real history to it.

And nice F-350. My girlfriend's got a '12 350 SuperDuty in the same color. Awesome truck.

BuffaloDarkRoom- You have an amazing eye and skill for photography.
I viewed your album of Detroit. Nice pics depicting sadness or sorts. As a Classic car guy, these pictures sting. This should have never happened if it weren't for greed. Sad.

Cheers,
Rik

Figured I would update this thread now that I finally finished the inside of the rustic room that was in the first set of pictures. Amazing how time flies by and projects get pushed to the side when life gets in the way!
