Have you seen a Ford body hammer before? I think it is from the school they had many moons ago. Made by Heller

Those long box-OE wrenches are for spark plugs-cylinder head nuts. If you want to post up the part numbers on them, I can tell you what they fit.

I suspected they were for headbolt or sparkplug based on a little google-fu, but I am not an expert on these at all. Just bought them because they looked really interesting, and they all had the Moore drop forge "m"

Nice haul of wrenches.

That would be interesting pete.
I believe those wrenches with the large open end and small box end are for separating the two halves of the spark plugs. I used to have a 1930's Model N tractor and many times would use the special wrench for that, as my Father had shown me:
1.Unscrew the plug from the head with the open end.
2.Put the plug in to the hexagon hole cast in to the side of the radiator to hold it.
3. Use the box end of the wrench to unscrew the centre of the plug for cleaning, which was often very tight as stuck together with carbon.
4.Screw it up again, and then re fit the plug in to the cyl head using the open end of the wrench, don't do it up too tight and strip the threads in the head as using an open end wrench..
It seems everybody has forgotten about doing this, and doesn't remember the old 2 piece spark plugs, except maybe provincial!
Has anybody got an instruction book describing this simple procedure or was it just 'word of mouth' training? Do you have any info on it pete, i would love to see some instructions for it?

For mdl T
sure there are A, V8, and tractor lists in parts books. The big green parts book is so handy! just doesn't fit on the scanner.

OTG I have that same wrench M-40-17017. Here is a link to a thread I made last year and a second link to TTPete's explanation on the p/n. If you search for that thread, you'll see several other comments that were helpful as I was researching this wrench.

Here are the part numbers...

The first one is from about 1933 and is for 21 stud engines that used 18 mm spark plugs.

The second is from about 1938 and is for the 24 stud engines that were introduced at that time with the water pumps in the block instead of the cylinder heads.

There's one more afterward that is for the engines that used 14 mm plugs. It is a double box end with an 01 prefix. Model A wrenches have an A prefix in the part number and are for the big 7/8" plugs. There was one more for the V8-60 engines that carry a 52 prefix and those are fairly rare.

The basic number is 17017 and the prefix is the model and year the part was introduced.
