Anyone out there ever had any experience or currently use Foredom tools. These are normally jeweler's tools. I have a foredom grinding/polishing kit that was a gift from a family member about 25 years ago.

I have a Foredom rotary tool that is much older than I am, and was my grandmothers. I still use it and it doesn't show any sign of stopping soon.

I have a flex shaft unit, re-branded by CC-Specialty, it ported alot of 2-stroke cylinders in it's day.

As stated, it is like a dremel on steroids, I have boxes of 1/8", 1/4", long reach, etc burrs, not much I can't grind on. Plus the ability to change the hand piece is tremendous, still have my right angle hand piece, invaluable for modifying the transfer ports on a 2-stroke.

I've had several offers to buy the setup, can't see that I would ever part with it.

Used one for roughing out decorative decoys and other wood sculptures along with gunsmithing and stock customizing

Foredoms are very highly thought of in gunsmithing circles.

The most awesome of rotary tools used daily .... with a warning to less "handy" users - a fordom will mess a feed ramp up even quicker than bubba's dremel

Nope, the wrong selection of the cutter, or abrasive for the job will. If you don't know what you are doing any tool will screw something up...

You should see some of the "porting" on cylinders I've seen that was done with a drill.
