Cypher Great set up has me thinking uh oh a new hobby.
The small one made by buffalo was filled with sand cleaned it out and opened the gear box expecting the worse they were perfect. Oiled it up and it works great. I will Fab a new handle and give it a paint job. Big one is made by Champion it's a 400 it is going to a friend in Texas needs some clean up but runs good.
Finished up the little buffalo smooth running machine once you get it adjusted. Handle is a farm fix it works but Need to find a handle or make one. The old meat grinder handles may work with some minor mods.
I've got the whole buffalo forge setup, with a large rectangular buffalo forge. The blower gearbox is a little bit sad though, it binds up every half rotation or so. There's a couple of chipped teeth, but they don't seem to be causing the bind.
I'm hoping some day to be able to find some replacement gears, or have new ones made.
The little one I actually found on the ladies property between her driveway and her late husband tool shed it was laying half buried filed with sand and dirt. Her husband had a bunch of stuff scattered over 4 acres her daiughter took most of it to the scrap yard.
Thanks - I believe it dates to the 1870s. It is in very nice condition. At around 100 lbs its big enough for the lightweight work I do, but small enough to be portable when I need to take my rig somewhere.
