Just wanted to say the absolute best way I have found to make forks glide across the carriage is Fluid Film. They glide like they are on ice. Makes a crappy job MUCH better

Are you talking about when you manually spread the forks in/out ?

I use FF on the fork sets for my tractors. Since they sit outside, they need some lubrication now and then.

Most guys just use the slide lube they already have for the mast rails.
