Same here. It either slows to a crawl or stops entirely. It's like clockwork every night, just before midnight PST. I was actually getting ready to make a similar post and ask what the issue is.

Must be site maintenance since so many of us are getting the same thing.

The other weird random thing (once in a while) may be my ISP. :p

I have gotten the random one on chrome, firefox, and I.E.

Usually when I see this on a forum, it is during the database backups.
Mysql gets pretty "locked" during a backup dump, and freezes up a site.
That's my guess as to what you're seeing here, but I wouldn't know. I'm asleep at that time most days.

I have been paying more attention in the last few days. Mine is loading...but takes forever to open a new thread. It starts at 1:48 AM central U.S. time. I have not quite figured out when it goes back to normal speeds yet.

EDIT: 2:27 AM it went back to normal this time. LOL

that's why they should implement a redundant pair of databases with replication. temporarily break replication and backup the offline database with no impact on the online one. then turn replication back on and let the offline catch up to the online one and all is back to normal.

or do file system snapshots and back up from the freeze.
