I received the following (PM) message from someone with the screen name of "ForumModerators". Somehow, I know its a great way to get a virus if I click on it. Will someone please ban "ForumModerators"

There is a virus going around called "security tool" , google it and you'll get info. I know how to remove it if needed

Installs an activeX control but the scanning engine runs from the web. Don't go based on symptoms though, do an actual scan. But everyone running Windows should install the absolutely free Microsoft Security Essentials. It's a relatively robust anti-virus, -spyware, and -malware engine (based on the corporate Forefront Security Suite, which they do charge for) that consumes almost no resources and updates automatically. And of course, the price is right.
