Without a tear down of the pump no one can tell you if it's good for rebuilding and HF may be the good answer. Post a closeup of the motor name place or confirm that it is a true 5 hp. 5 hp should have a 21-23 amp current draw at 240 v.

I may be wrong but that doesn't look like a "5 hp" pump, more like a 3 hp pump, "residential grade" powered by a 3 hp motor rated at 5 hp for advertising reasons. Probably about 10-12 cfm. Still OK if it serves your needs just don't overpay for something that you are not going to get.

Second in line, waiting on the seller. That's the picture they had posted. It's more than what I have now 30gal oil less noise maker.

What's the price of a new pump? If this compressor isn't less than 2 bills, pass.
Definitely can be rebuilt as just a 2 cylinder "small engine" . . . ie piston going up and down in cylinder. Might need rings, or bearings or head/valve work . . . . ONLY if it's completely wore out, which is not likely.
If compressor builds air and doesn't knock, then just replace oil and run it.
What kind of price are you considering paying ??
Be sure you see/hear it run before buying. Time how long it takes to fill 60 gal from empty to say 140psi. If Seller calling it "bad pump" from slow fill times, it could need new valves or ring job. Determine pump manufacturer and price out a rebuild kit.

I am all for shopping used for a deal but there is no reason to toss money and work where a guy can buy a new working unit for 400$ ready to go.

Open the compressor pump and inspect it. What it is doing or not doing?
If it is not building or holding pressure it may only be the reed valves.
Pull the head and check the valves for burnt oil build up or broken reeds.
After that look at the cylinder for scoring
