These don't turn up very often around here. It's 48" tall, and weighs over 100lbs. Also came with 3 USA made tongs.
I have no use for it, but certainly wasn't going to pass it up.

Cool.

There is one just like that coming up for auction here on Saturday.

If you don't mind what did you pay as a frame of reference?

PS. Do not start watching blacksmith videos on youtube....

A friend of mine had one of these in his shop. I came by one day and bought a bunch of stuff from him, but passed on the cone anvil. It looked like a nice item but I just couldn't see much of a use for it, and couldn't really see needing one in the future to justify the cost.

CR: nice find and i haven't seen one around in all the years i've been buying and looking for blacksmith STUFF. I suppose i could check out the youtube videos to see what a cone is really supposed to be used for, but Thumper warned us not to start watching them because guessing that is a rabbit hole without a bottom.

the tongs look like they are in great shape and that might be the first ones i've ever seen that are painted.

.

I was taught it was impolite to ask what someone paid for something. Besides - what I paid for it may not have any relevance to current market value.
Look on Ebay to see what they are selling for.
