Looks like it's in good shape.

So here is the classic flip story. What was once for sale & sold for $150 two days ago is now being resold for $650.

At least he cleaned out some papers? :)

I've also had people intentionally price things really low to drum up interest, and then they'll say "oh, I had an offer for $***, will you beat that?"

Grr. The anonymity of craigslist pisses me off sometimes. You would never be that spineless in real life if you had some balls attached to you.

It's actually another guy who bought it for $150, he cleaned it up and remove the sticker and is now reselling/flipping at 400% mark up just after 1 day of buying. You can see some of the same same marks/scratches.

One a different note:

I'm finding in LA, there are people taking the piss out of people by putting an ad up for something very desirable for pennies, then not reply back to all the people who want to buy it. They'll keep the ad up for months.

I saw a top of the line Drill Dr. selling for $20, he kept the ad up for 8 months.

I read that another guy who would put up a Snap_on box ad in LA for $50 but would get back the person giving them bunk addresses and times.People would drive an hour to go buy it and end up at some random address with an old lady having no idea about any craigslist ad or told to drive to a gas station in the middle of rush hour to meet up but no one shows up.

I don't get it, life is way too short for that kind BS.

I have also experienced people putting up something similar, often in better shape, to mine but for less money and then when they show up try to use that as a leverage tool to haggle me down so beware if you're selling on CL.

Something similar happened to me and a bunch of other folks a few months back.

CL ad with pictures and an address for a garage sale in town. The garage photo's were full of stuff us here look for and on that Friday morning at least a dozen people were at the house. Time came, garage did not open and when someone rang the bell, the girl who answered didn't know what the heck was going on.

I later came to find out that there was another sale going on across town that had similar items. I think whoever wrote up that fake ad wanted less competition at the beginning of the day.

Background looks like a Goodwill drop off ... might have snatched it when it was brought in, especially since she's taking the pictures from the inside of a car. :).

Big Vise for sale. Not mine. I'll be the first to admit... I honestly think its too big. I know that sounds crazy but you BETTER have some serious room in your garage for something like that. I can't wrap my head around ANY workbench that could hold that thing.

HOLY ****! I hope one of yas gets that!

Pics and CL listing for future...

HUGE, GIGANTIC, MONSTER METAL WORKERS VISE

If only I lived within a few hundred miles...and owned a crane.

Boy, if that vise could talk! Interesting history there, I'm sure.

Austin Texas area: If your needing a whole shop full of dewalt stuff this looks like a pretty good deal to me. Sliding miter, table saw, planer, and a truck load of other stuff. I would like to have some of this stuff but I don't need it all or want to deal with the wrath of the wife for spending that much money on more stuff for the shop.

Matco MB-1440 53" WIDE TOOL CHEST with small side box. SLIGHTLY USED! $500

53" wide x 24" deep

For $500 and in this condition, I think someone should jump on this? It has a nice drawer layout.

Wow! Great find. Should be gone in a day or two...

If only A) I lived in LA and B) had the room for it...meanwhile eight people in my area are listing beat down 26" Craftsmans made of tinfoil for an average of $200. (That's justice for you)

Same with CL in my area. Here everyone is trying to get LIST price (e.g. higher than avg. retail) for their worn down tools.

The thing is though - they never sell. I see the same parts washer (just needs good cleaning and ...a new pump) being re-listed for over 2 years ago and going. Makes Craigslist less "useful". Don't know why people do it.

I know what you mean. I've seen one old stick welder for sale at an absurd price for so long on the local CL that when it finally goes I might have postpartum depression.

Meanwhile, not all is lost. For our friends in Sacramento here's a nice deal on a Remline combo:

Seattle - Whacheon 17"x40" Gap Bed Metal Lathe

This is a good deal, if your looking for a good precision lathe. Used one in a Tool and Die shop at Boeing. Pricy, but looks in good condition with a good tooling package.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/tld/4633314075.html

That's at the dealer in Gresham, OR. The guy is a total flake when it comes to trying to buy from him. He also is trying to turn an insane profit on everything he has.
