Hammer Time! 09/27/23

Tacoma, Washington

I'm wondering how far this guy made it through school. He's not doing well with his math. Or maybe he really wants to get rid of all those hammers.

I would hate meeting up for 16 different hammer sales. And ~$2 seems about right, maybe $3 for the specialty ones.

Toro Dingo 222, $9800, not sure that is a good deal. These units always make me think about @kaymccampbell who gets a lot done with hers.

Not a deal. The wheeled Dingos are jerky, clumsy, get stuck in everything, mobile hydraulic power stations. They're best at stationary, or nearly stationary tasks. You want a TX4- series. Compact, track drive, less footprint pressure than a human, same awesome Dingo, high pressure hydraulic power, smooth TX drive system. Just a totally better deal, even if they are more money. I extensively demoed several different sitework systems. The Dingo TX machines were head and shoulders above the rest for total utility.

Example. In an hour, you might be able to spread 20 yards of dirt with a 222. In that same hour, I can easily spread the same 20 yards of dirt, rough grade it, and have time left over for a puppy/potty/water break, while waiting for the next load, and I won't be winded or battered. And, my machine is the TX-413, the smallest one of the lot.

This may have changed, but I'm not trading in my Dingo in my lifetime. We've grown old together, and we're used to each other's little quirks

Not sure it meets the GJ definition of heavy duty, but it is a nice quality homeowners vise. I had one on my workbench for years and it served me well.

^ I shot a note to Don Long about them... I don't know of anyone else who collects them. Shipping might be a deal killer. Coupeville is way up on the peninsula - long drive.

Man I love those torches. Long way from Olympia up to Coupeville. It is actually on Whidbey Island so a ferry ride is required unless you go all they way to Anacortes and across Deception Pass bridge.

I might call and see if they are planning a trip down to Seattle or somewhere. Meet up. I have always wanted to polish one after reading the polishers thread.
