Just picked up a Delta/Rockwell 40-440 scroll saw with stand for a grand total of $80. Bought it from a college architecture professor. Checked the serial number, vintage 1971 and it's in fantastic shape.

That's great, show it off in the General Tool Discussion forum, but this thread is for posting CL deals others can take advantage of.

Chicago area (evergreen park)
Lista cabinets
Price - seems negotiable?

When I was picking up a side box last night, the seller had about 8 Lista / Vidmar 7-8 drawer cabinets. They are cleaning out a basement area. The boxes had stickers on them asking $700-800 each.

They are in well used condition with dings and chips. I told her about $50 per drawer in that shape, and she seemed very receptive to my advice. I'm sure she's willing to deal. Very nice person, as well.

Here's the link in case anyone is interested:

Those are half height cabinets though, good for a work bench build at about half that price IMHO which would be in line with your estimate.

$10 drill press in Sonoma CA. Not sure what brand exactly, but hey, $10 is $10.

'1/2" drill press works good"

Nope, but close. Rockwell Delta model 11-280. I had one for a while. Very versatile since you can both tilt the head and fit 16" between the drill and the vertical column, but not very rigid (the columns and column joint flex when you drill steel) and takes up more room that a normal benchtop drill. Also, not the best quill bearing design.

Not necessarily...

"highest bidder gets it "

So I bet he's trying to run an auction without paying fees to eBay/Paypal.

So you e-mail him and say you'll give him the $600 for it, and then he e-mails back that he has someone who offered him $800 for it, and you need to beat that bid to get it.

At least that's what I'm guessing is going on.

That's my guess as well. Still could turn out to be a really good deal.

This Vise is the IE (inland empire)....

Looks like it's at least a 50 lbs-er....

Looks to be an american, possible a parker...

https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/atq/5406298566.html

Just needs some love from a fellow garage Journaler...

Careful on that one...
Looks to me like it was repaired (??) after the shelf on the static jaw side broke off some time long ago. Has anybody else seen such a thing on the side to support the slide?
But early Parker would be my guess as well.
Somebody need parts?
