Well, the Sacramento slacker must have killed it for me (I am also in Sacramento with a 916 area code) because I sent a message Monday at 246PM about 3hrs after posting. So it's a bit painful to read this but I am glad someone here got it :)

Here's a pretty well respected, huge Snap On combo setup in the Atlanta, GA area:

https://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/tls/6169260804.html

Price seems to be decent.

Price seems high even though they may very well sell used for that price, for that price I would easily recommend getting a Lista or Vidmar box and it would be much better quality and 440lb rated drawers. Looking at the really deep bottom drawer in the pic with only a single slider does not look top notch or worth a $2000 investment compared to a Lista or Vidmar.

Maybe these might be a better option for the Atlanta area:

Larry found another great deal!

I was very near Santa Rosa for 2 days last weekend but now that a steal of a deal is listed I find myself 400 miles away! :(

I hope another GJ guy bags that deal. The stand alone is worth more than $40

You mean it's not free?

I'm digging that old CMan toolbox they also have listed...

Stuff like that is so hard to find around here, at least for a decent price...

Nice find, but this thread is for alerting others to good buys and not to post about of your own great finds.

that may be true, but it is certainly not obvious from the title of the thread. GTODOC found what i think everyone will agree was a great deal on CL, and he shared it.

i dont understand why people do these posts rather than sending a private message, especially if they dont post a deal here, themselves.

and, even though i did not complain about it, i will post a deal, and a free one, at that:

40 ft overseas container galvanized steel (Middleton, Ma)

Good shape little bit of work to get it out of my back yard but I'll take down fence truck can drive right up to it.

Why can't I find these deals locally. I'd be all over that drill press.

This Walker-Turner/Rockwel-Delta is in your area that is a little more but it's also much bigger 20" and with a substantially better table with adjustable height crank & T-slots. Looks like it needs a chuck which is very easy to add and also needs cleaning but if your able to do that and negotiate a lower price ($150?) and it checks out to be in working condition then that's a good deal. He keeps lowering the price so I think you'll be able to get the price down. I think this drill press can be a much better deal than the one above considering size & adjustable table.

Another one....from the same area

Vintage Walker Roll A Car Floor Jack

Vintage Walker Roll A Car Floor Jack

Vintage Walker Roll-A-Car No 862 Series B 2 Ton Hydraulic Jack.

I believe this dates to the 50's but I'm not 100% certain. It's in great working condition but could use a good cleaning. To my knowledge it does not leak.

I will deliver within 50 m

snap on box for 1000

desmoines.craigslist.org/tls/6159415151.html

so, here is the text from that ad:

Snap On bottom box. $1800obo
Also will consider trades. First $1000 takes it! Good tell Thursday 6/15.

Honda Yamaha Kawasaki

can someone explain to me the "$1800obo" with "the fist $1000 takes it"?

and, since we are here, why did he put three motorcycle brands down as tags?

The motorcycle tags are for what he would probably consider as trades.

gtodoc scored on those boxes/tools!

Tundruz found another great deal.

That stuff was put out on the curb under a free sign. First come first served. It would take me an hour to get there and there is no way, even for the infamous sfbay region, that it would be there when I arrived. Seller said no holds...why should he?

I suppose if I didn't already have one of each of those items already, I could have contacted him and said something like for $50 would you hold it? Some sellers wouldn't do that.

I am always on the look out for single phase compressors or parts to build small compressors from discarded refrigerators, definitely a lot of discards to choose from in the Bay Area.

I will be picking the California Air compressor this afternoon. Not technically free, $25.00 donation accepted. I stated and offered to repair theirs for a very small fee as I repaired several that had the same problem, but they bought the current version already. They were concerned about injury, liability and being sued if they sold it.

32" Table Bridgeport Manual Knee Mill with tooling- $800obo (Lancaster, CA)

"Bridgeport knee mill, Possibly made in 1960's, for a Navy ship according to the previous owner. Take it home, plug it in, and get milling!

$800 OBO

32" x 9" table.

Fully functioning, comes with a three-phase converter (plugs into 220 V single phase.)

Includes:

Full set of collets
2 fly cutters with carbide inserts
2 Jacobs chucks
Slitting saw
Assortment of end and side mills
Assortment of reamers
Dial indicator for tramming/setup
6" vise
Set of parallels
Set of bolts, fulcrums and fingers for clamping to table
A random sanding attachment that I got when I bought it? You can take this if you'd like, the previous owner included it and he wasn't certain it actually belonged to this. I don't think it does.

Probably about $600 in accessories alone.

It's in Quartz Hill, CA (West Lancaster), and you will have to move it. I moved it here from Rosamond, and a tow company charged about $100. It weights about 1/2 ton, so a pickup isn't really an option. Possibly a sturdy trailer or flatbed, if you have a winch or crane."
