I'm not sure if this is a great deal or not. It's priced fairly high IMO but it does have the swival jaw and swivel base.

Hmm maybe someone else can chime in?

Oh and this guy has some slightly better than ebay prices if you're looking for something in particular to fill out a set. No pictures and he has a lot of stuff listed. Maybe he's a member on here.

It is the same seller who has the big Baldor Grinder you posted that I passed on.
I inspected this vise when I was there last week to inspect his Baldor grinder. I passed on it as I suspected a crack in the main nut. The handle was bent and straighten sometime in the past. He said everything was frozen stuck when he first got it. Take a bright flash light
like I do ever since I bought a Parker vise the had the main nut brazed and one side of the bottom slide was missing. I didn't know until I disassembled for restoration.
My handle was also bent and had been straighten before I bought it.
It looked fined otherwise.

Good to know. Thanks I know nothing!

To make up for my semi okay vise post, here is a HC lathe for $250. If it works and you have the space I believe this is an incredibly incredibly good deal.

Sometimes it feels like I might be posting too much garbage in this thread. However, I'd rather have someone on here grab something rather than one of us missing it. Apologies if I am.

Oh wow...NICE find.
Please post anything you feel is of interest.
I do appreciate as well as interested others that most of your postings in this thread are freshly Posted CL ads. Does your desk have multiple
screen monitors? One screen dedicated to GJ and one for CL.
Don't be surprised if I PM you with a list of items I'm interested if you do.

That's an awesome find however that's a really specialized lathe for production work and not suited for the home shop, however the tooling and parts can be really useful for someone and certainly worth alone for more than the asking price. I would be very surprised if someone isn't already on his way to pick it up.

Keep those postings coming...one man's "garbage" is something somebody else has been looking for.

michael w.
IMHO, that's a fair price for the Prentiss...maybe not a steal but a fair price assuming it is in good shape.

ducksface:
I agree. Brand new decent grade anvil with what appears to be a well made stand. A guy could buy the anvil, all the wood, the chain and sand and be into it for more than $350.
Not a steal at that price but worth negotiating if somebody wants it.

Item: Champion VR2-6 Air Compressor

Price: 800 dollars or best offer

Link: https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/tls/d/champion-air-compressor/6308792903.html

New this compressor sells for over two thousand and this one looks almost brand new. CFM is lower than what I would like, but for a homeowner it would be fine: Delivers 7.5CFM @ 175 PSI. You would have to buy a single phase motor for it, but price is negotiable.

Yeah both my home and work setup have multiple monitors. I'm an IT guy and work is relatively slow right now so Fridays in particular I just refresh craigslist. PM your list and contact information and I can definitely help out.

Hey Portland, OR ... quit sleeping on it! Craftsman grinder, vise and two pedestal bases for $150. The grinder is a 3/4hp commercial with the big base
Somebody go get this!!

Someone snagged up the vise and pedestal stand for $50 last week. They are a member here and posted in the garage sale thread.

On a side note this has been sitting unpurchased for 5 days or so.

$100 in Campbell, CA (where I work ironically). If the general consensus is I'm crazy to let it go, I'll probably pick it up but figured I'd give other people a crack at it first.

That Baldor grinder was posted a month or so ago and I thought it was a descent deal then but it looks like no one picked it up. At least you have a chance of negotiating a little becuase it has been posted for so long or maybe the guy is difficult and that's why it hasn't sold, who knows.

One thing about that grinder is it's aluminum and not cast iron, so not quite as robust as some of Baldor's other models. I'd consider $100 a pretty good deal however since it's 1/2 HP.

Delta 4" Jointer - $25

It's only a 4" but it looks like it's in great condition and comes with a delta stand and one of those rolling stands.

Willow Glen (San Jose), CA

Huot Roller - $80

Maybe good for someone collecting. It seems like it's priced a little high to me and would require some body work.

Also, Free Delta table saw/jointer combo and a free band saw (not sure the brand?) in Russian River, CA

M.W.:
Great finds again!
The jointer is a FANTASTIC deal. IMHO, the locking wheeled base alone is worth $25

The band saw is already gone.

Although technically not what most people expect when buying a "set" it is still a SCREAMING deal! (assuming they are not all worn out)

What is it...like maybe 10 cents each for taps and dies and a few serious looking handles too.

Thanks to macgee for including a pic. Everybody posting should include a description and price with a pic and a link when posting to these pages.

No problemo!

$100 for the grinder...another $200 for a new VFD, some time with a knotted cup wheel and a couple cans of spray paint. Then you'll be ready to rock the biggest badass grinder in your neighborhood. :rocker:
