Pretty good deal in our area.

Only way to beat it would be a garage sale.

Maybe some more knowledgeable/senior members could help identify if any of these are good deals.

Prices are varied, but seem fair. I have already talked to him and I'm trying to go down on Saturday to pick up some of this stuff. The older Craftsman drill press really caught my eye. As well as a good bench grinder if anything he has is decent. I am still learning what is good old American made stuff, and what isn't worth paying much for. I could also use a table saw but they all appear lower end....which would probably be fine anyhow.

I think the two front grinders (specifically the first craftsman) would be a decent deal at $70ea. I'm not sure what brand the one in the middle is though.

$70 is WAY better than anything you'll find for sale on ebay for the 1/2hp craftsman. In fact, you could probably make money on Ebay.

Pass on that one in the far back. I have it and it has worked great for years but it's not very valuable for resale.

The table saws are probably worth about $50ea to me (I guess it depends on your area) with the first craftsman I think being the most desirable. It looks like a standard emerson made saw. Make sure they're not direct drive or the price would go down IMO. In fact, none of those appear to have cast iron wings so I'm not sure I'd even pay $50 unless they don't sell used machines where you live.

That craftsman 100/150 drill press is the only thing I would buy from his drill presses but that's because I love that style and have 3 of them. I believe the other ones are all made overseas. It appears to be floor standing and probably worth $100-125 though he might want more. I would not pay over $150 for it if it were for sale locally here.

LOL........I have that Vise.
Ironically, I paid $10.00 it also, long time ago.
About 1993.
The lady had a table saw for sale, On the penny saver Ad. paper.
her Dad had passed.
Went and looked at it.
This was when l had just started collecting tools at home, and getting into wood working! (think all I had at the time was a hand plane, Maynot even a Plane yet, (LOL, Then It ALL Started...............:3gears:Can not even walk hardly in garage right now....lol)
Actually Glad C.L. was not around @ the time, probably would have not even went to look at the saw,
as it was a small Montgomery wards, or old Atlas, or craftsman, ~ 8" blade.
But the drawback, was NO FENCE?/So I Passed on it.

"0h, he did everything Freehand"

She proudly stated!!***Bless her Heart. ***:bounce:
(lt was cute the way she said it!):p

But I spotted the very vise, and asked about it, she said a 10 spot,
I said to my-self, "No Brainer" and it "followed me home like a "Stray Dog"
Actually, didn't know it was " A steal" like we would Know today,
But the price seemed "fair", so she held the vise grips, while I wrenched off the bolts.
Thanks for Reading, Merry Xmas to all, and May the tool gods bless you all!!:bounce:

EDIT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

0.M.G. l can not believe it's still there.................:dunno:

Thanks for all of the advice. It'll certainly help me go in there with a little more bargaining ability. Since I'll likely be buying a few things, he already said he's a little flexible on prices.

I live in the greater Philadelphia area and people always want too much for what they have, no matter how beat up it is. So things like the even a basic table saw are typically overpriced. I don't need anything fancy, but some decent stuff that will get my wood working area started. Before this all I've had were mobile hand tools (circ. saw, reciprocating saw etc.)

That was my main concern here. Picking out the good stuff from your generic Chinese HF type tools.

Incredibly, that $10 Craftsman vise is apparently still available. One of you guys who lives within a reasonable distance should grab it. It looks a lot like my model 5191. Out here it would be gone in minutes at $100

Ingersoll Rand Air Compressor 5hp 60 gallon - $150

Available is a used, noisy but working Ingersoll Rand air compressor. 5hp 220 single phase motor and 60 gallon tank. Oil was changed a few months back.

Only reason im selling is we needed a bigger compressor.

I could have priced it at $300.00 and it would be a deal!!! But I priced it at $150.00 because I need the space and need it gone asap!!!

The price is not negotiable. If you know what these are you know new this is a $1,200 unit and used they sell for $500/$600

No trades, no crazy questions. Cash & Carry!!!

Located in Beltsville MD

Come and get it!!!

emailed, not real hopeful.

I wouldn't feel bad, you're probably 124th in line. Anytime I list something free on CL my inbox fills up immediately.

Pity, as it looks like that drill press has an intermediate speed pulley on it, and the grinder looks like a nice vintage one as well. Fingers crossed for you...if you really want to get to the front of the line offer $20 as good faith and he may hold them for you.

Holy camole, SF bay area ... FREE Cman drill press, unknown grinder and what looks like a Reed 104

Shocker! The ad has been deleted.

Good find trijeff and yes that drill press does appear to have a slow speed pulley and a Reed 204R.

Someone is a happy man, hopefully grinning right now while bolting his new free vise onto his workbench and thinking about what piece he can drill holes into.

Hopefully that's someone on here and they'll post it. Actually I'm pretty sure they will eventually when they try to get the slow speed working correctly. Unfortunately, that person is not me. :(

Here's one the vintage guys would like.

Huge floor standing USA-made ultrasonic cleaner (has something like 20+" x 30+" x 12+" of space inside the tank)
$650 OBO

https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/for/d/industrial-ultrasonic-cleaner/6430032211.html

If I had space I'd love one of these. They usually go used for thousands. Imagine being able to drop an entire small machine in (after removing motor/parts with bearings) and skipping the 10 hours of cleanup that usually starts off a restoration. Looks like he used it to restore pontiac parts.

For your interest, here's an identical unit, except the one I linked to was a bit nicer and had the stainless basket (to keep parts off of the floor of the tank -- a big no-no when ultrasonic cleaning)

If one of you guys got it, I'd love to be friends... that thing would reduce my machine resto time by like 75%

Definitely a deal (as always) larryq ... the Cman grinder stand is worth the $100 alone. Tilt drill press vise what you likely correctly identify as a Thor certainly classify this as a CL deal! Nice find

Then again, I don't have vises I don't use. Doing otherwise would be like dating Jessica Alba and sleeping on the couch.

I'm on the bubble as to whether this is a deal. The 'drill press' is one of those hand drill-in-a-pinch things, but the grinder could be a good vintage one. Nice eye shields, I want to say it's a Thor.

At first look, it would be a pass but looking more at it, it's not a bad price. Looking closely, the grinder has the desirable Stanley "600-A" lighted eye shields, the pedestal is the desirable Craftsman block grinder pedestal and the vise looks like a Palmgren, Yankee or Craftsman drill press angle vise. You also get a second adjustable pedestal if you need one.
