Not bad however if you look carefully at the drawer sliders, its not the same quality as a Lista or Vidmar, looks like some kind of knock-off posing as a HD box. This one has the typical style sliders types you see on regular cheaper tool boxes (Craftsman & Harbor Freight) and not nearly as robust as a Lista or Vidmar slides. The rest of the box looks solid and typical of a Vidmar. Not sure what the value of this one would be with those weak sliders. Could still be a good box, just not not a Vidmar

The paint job looks custom (pain in the *** to do).

PS> Shiftless is right: "Lista and Stanley/Vidmar are super smooth and super heavy duty. Many guys say they are superior to Snap On".

The sticker on the box says 'Equipto', which is itself a very respected name.

Good eye and yes you're correct Equipto is a great company and well respected, I like them a lot especially the vintage ones.

It's probably a really nice tool box, it's just those type of sliders are not the same load spec's as a Vidmar or Lista slider. Maybe I'm being too picky, it does look nice and price is good, it’s just you should be able to also find Vidmar for approx the same price.

However, the pic below shows the correct Equito sliders which are very similar to the excellent Lista, Nu-Era, Rousseau and Vidmar and those are 400lb rated drawers not like the ones in the criagslist ad. "Nu-Era" & "Rack Engineering" cabinets are my favorites.

Sorry, if I'm getting too off topic to craigslist deals; just wanted to make sure a GJ member knew what their getting if they go pick it up. I'll now get off my soap box.

on some thread somewhere on GJ, i posted the first of these two items as an example of someone with unreasonable expectations for how much something was worth. i was told that pullers dont wear out, new these were N thousand dollars, and two thousand for the one i posted was a great deal.

that was, say, a month ago. it is still here, and another, in an older box.

first, the older posting, with the newer box:

https://westernmass.craigslist.org/tls/d/puller-set-snap-on/6600411218.html

Puller Set Snap On - $2000 (16 Acres Spfld)

Screen Shot 2018-06-29 at 11.37.11 .jpg

and the newer posting, with the older box:

https://worcester.craigslist.org/tls/d/snap-on-cj-puller-set/6625702859.html

Snap on cj puller Set - $1800 (Dudley)

Screen Shot 2018-06-29 at 11.35.12 .jpg

so, i dont know what these are worth, but i have been assured the first was a great deal, so the second, which is less, should also be. i do know that i bought four of the older boxes for 100$ each early in the year (two of which had the boards inside, but no tools), and two of the newer boxes for 150$ each about two months ago (one of which had the board inside, but, again, no tools).

if you are local, and decide to pick one of these up, and dont care about the box, and are willing to accept the prices i already paid, PM me.

or not.

A 5 foot tall Vidmar box for $100?
400 pound capacity per drawer?
THAT’S what we’re talkin’ about!
Great find!

good eye, jaws are welded on. Definitely not a fatal flaw and very fixable, still a good buy imo. I already have a 577 and several other big vises or I might offer $100-120 and see what happens.

HFT 15 lbs portable NaHCO3 blaster & 3/4 of a bag of media (a 50 lbs bag is $40) & looks as-new, $45.

The blaster is $90, the media is $40, so $45 my total instead of $130. I already tried it, no issues. For my use on small parts, and motorcycle stuff, it should work fine.

Some people don't know what they have and pick prices from Google search I would talk to the guy and explain the broken part. And try to see how low he will go. I found a babco 150 that someone wanted 150$ because they thought it was a USA vise I explained it was made in Japan and that it is worth probably 80-100$ they edited the ad and changed price to 80$ I would have bought it to match my babco 35 but I don't have room and when I get a big vise I want one that swivels or rotates.

I just used it enough to have to re-load it with the soda media. The design isn't user-friendly for that, the mouth to fill it through is too-narrow. I might ask one of my friends about cutting-in and welding a new fill port, and adding another smaller port on the side of the bottle to hook the high-pressure line to. I think that can be done with some steel threaded nuts welded to the tank. I'm gonna try using it with a full tank and see how-long it lasts. I read comments that suggest 70 psi is adequate, and I haven't adjusted the media flow valve yet, to maximize cutting ability while not wasting media. I intend to use it primarily on die-cast and forged aluminum motorcycle parts, like cases, brackets, and carbs. I did an old Kerker exhaust 4/1 system, and it really cleaned it up well.

Driving by an industrial warehouse area & beat-out a pro. scavenger to these, a HFT blasting cabinet & a creeper, both look ok.

I'm only an amateur scavenger!

great score, but this thread is exclusively for deals you see but are not going to get yourself.

I think it is pretty amazing that a thread started 6 years ago by markf4e as a way to share leads on good deals that pop up on C/L would reach 6000 postings!

 to all the regulars as well as the occasional posters for keeping this great thread alive and active.
